ECQ OUTLET COMING TO EASTERN CREEK

Prepare for an exciting new retail chapter in Western Sydney—ECQ Outlet, the third stage of the Eastern Creek Quarter (ECQ) precinct, is set to transform the local retail scene with around 100 outlet stores, major road upgrades, sustainability initiatives, and social spaces. It’s expected to open in March 2026, completing the transition of ECQ into a holistic shopping, dining, and entertainment hub.

Projection of extended ‘ECQ Socal’ space within ECQ Outlet

Located in the Eastern Creek Quarter (ECQ), near the Western Sydney Parklands, ECQ Outlet will be home to around 100 different brands. What makes this shopping centre unique is that it has worked closely with the NSW Department of Planning and Environment to establish a clear definition of what “outlet retail” means. In this case, it means that participating brands will be required to offer at least 70% of their stock at discounted prices compared to their regular retail prices.

As the newest retail outlet centre in Greater Western Sydney and just the fourth in New South Wales, ECQ Outlet fills a significant gap in local bargain shopping. Western Sydney communities, long underserved by outlet options, will now have access to brands offering at least 70% off ordinary retail prices or stock created specially for outlets—a benchmark developed in collaboration with the NSW Department of Planning and Environment.

Inside Eastern Creek Quarter Outlet

Excitement is building around the brand lineup. The centre will host big global names like ASICS, Adidas, Puma, Fila, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, and more, highlighting its strength in athleisure, fashion, footwear, and lifestyle offerings. Notably, ASICS is set to open its largest outlet store in Australia here.

This development is part of the larger ECQ project, which already includes the ECQ Shopping Centre and ECQ XL. The shopping centre houses a Woolworths supermarket, as well as a mix of local and well-known brands. ECQ XL, on the other hand, offers a range of large-format retail stores, including Anaconda, McDonald’s, Officeworks, and 4WD Supa Centre.

Set over roughly 29,000 m², designed by architects I2C and Hames Sharley, ECQ Outlet will feature wide, pedestrian-friendly shopping arcs (comparable to Pitt Street Mall), over 1,100 parking spaces, including undercover spots and EV charger capability, ticketless parking, Wi-Fi connectivity, and enhancements for accessibility. Add in new landscaping, lift access, and solar panels, and it’s clear this precinct is built to serve as both a shopping and community hub.

Importantly, the new stage will also expand the popular ECQ Social space with additional dining operators, shaded alfresco seating, and community gathering areas. The existing playground will be extended and fully integrated into the dining zone, making it a true destination for families.

When fully operational, ECQ Outlet is forecast to generate 1,000 jobs—500 during construction and another 500 once open. This $150 million development is poised to deliver significant economic impact to Greater Western Sydney. When it opens in March 2026, ECQ Outlet will complete the ECQ vision—melding everyday essentials, large-format stores, and now, discount outlet shopping, with social and dining spaces designed for families and groups.
