Located within the heart of the Nurragingy Reserve in Doonside, this is Blacktown’s first all inclusive adventure playground for children of all ages and abilities.
walk alongside the darug people
Wawai is a Darug word for spirit (river monster) and Ngurra (pronounced Nura) is Country. This playspace is themed around megafauna with a range of ancient animals and sculptures to explore around the playground. These animals are significant to the Darug people this includes dinosaurs, giant dinosaur eggs, fossils and more.
a park for all ages and abilities
People of all ages and abilities can access unique features that include a customised built elevated walkway which allows you to not take in the views across the entire reserve 3.5 metres above ground. There are also various play opportunities intertwined with the walkway for all visitors to experience and enjoy. There’s also a Changing Places facility, all access swings, slides, musical items, trampoline, a sand table, quiet places and a play sculpture.

This 63 hectare bushland park in Doonside features the Chang Lai Yuan Chinese Gardens, the Aboriginal Heritage Garden and the Miniature Railway. You can grab a quick bite from Colbee Cafe or enjoy a picnic.
