Richmond Good Food Market

Nestled under the majestic Jacaranda trees in the summertime is Richmond Good Food Market! An iconic mainstay and emblem of community spirit for locals and visitors alike to the picturesque Hawkesbury area.

Founded in 2014 by the Hanna & Williams family, the market was set to provide the Hawkesbury with locally grown produce and artisanal goods. After 5 years of loving growth, the market was taken over by Daniel McTackett. The love and dedication to ensuring the market goes from strength to strength has not wavered. In fact, the market is proudly celebrating it’s 10 year anniversary this March.

For many, this market is more than just a venue for stallholders to sell their wares; it’s a community, a gathering place for locals and visitors alike to meet, do their weekly shop and enjoy supporting local and surrounding small businesses. A great place for the dogs to come and socialise with other doggos, a place for parents to meet up with other families, wander through the market and grab a coffee and a bite to eat and have a play at the park.

What can you expect to find at the market? There are many stallholders whom are regulars at the market; Double Ristretto Coffee, Luv U More Bakery, Hawkesbury Juice Co, Robs Backyard Pizza, El Turko Gozleme, Bushtucker Babies, Pawsitively Awesome, Happy Dumplings, and Slimetopia just to name a few.

The town comes alive with regular festival days for the market, such as Easter with a special visit from the Easter Bunny, Mother’s Day, Winter Festival, and Father’s Day. During these festivals, you can find the market wrapping around the entire Oval. The neighbouring businesses in Windsor Street often joining in with the festivities. In the lead up to Christmas, there are several events celebrating the festive season, with many activities for children including facepainting, a visit from Santa and more. In fact, the Annual Christmas has become one of the largest markets in Western Sydney boasting over 190 stalls and still growing.

Parking is available in the surrounding streets and within the oval carpark, or you may like to take the train to the end of the line and arrive at Richmond Station. Prams and Wheelchairs alike have no issues accessing the market and stalls.

There is seating to enjoy lunch, listen to the live music and enjoy a relaxed day out. Richmond Good Food Market runs every Saturday from 8am til 1pm at Richmond Oval.
