Exhibition launch: rainbows, mermaids, fireworks
Looking for something to do in Western Sydney after voting on 3 May?
Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre will be launching their most recent art exhibition, ‘Under The Big Blue Sky’, at 2pm, which includes a special kids/families exhibition called ‘Rainbows, Mermaids, Fireworks’ by Emily Crockford and Rosie Deacon.
We’re thrilled to offer FREE creative activities for kids and families as part of our ‘Under the Big Blue Sky’ exhibition launch. Get hands-on and recreate ‘Dabiyil Bajara (Water Footprints)’ – a stunning installation featuring six large textile and cyanotype artworks by artists Sonja Carmichael and Elisa Jane Carmichael by tracing and drawing, making your own cyanotype look-alike. Then go to our Level 1 Gallery to dive into the immersive Rainbow, Mermaid, Fireworks exhibition by artists Emily Crockford and Rosie Deacon. In this magical underwater world, you can do some colouring in and try on some dress-ups inspired by the ocean’s wonders!
There is also a playground outside, and our onsite restaurant Bell Bird will be open for lunch and coffee.
