Governor Phillip Park
Round up the kids and discover a world of adventure and history at Governor Phillip Park’s playground in Windsor. Located on the banks of the Hawkesbury River, Governor Philip Park boasts nature-based play areas, sensory experiences, and water play, making it the ultimate destination for kids and families looking for some outdoor fun.
This fenced playground is safe for kids of all ages with climbing bridges, slides, in-ground trampolines, and tunnels there’s so many activities to keep the kids exploring, jumping and running around.
The kids will also love the sensory play area where they can play among the musical sound chimes.
Named after Governor Arthur Phillip, the first governor of the colony of NSW, Governor Phillip Park is rich in history. There’s elements from Windor’s European settlement that have been worked into the playground with large sandstone bricks and stepping stones, exposed brickwork, barrels, chains and natural wooden beams used to build the climbing frame.
The spider’s web is also great for kids to practice their balancing skills, and they can play with the tubular bells before laughing at their reflections in the silly mirrors!
And the fun doesn’t stop there, send children on a mission to find the small metal creatures including a frog, crab, bat hidden throughout the playground. The kids can enjoy climbing on the sculptures such as the giant lizard and cicadas while you relax with your favourite book.
The water play features are a hit with the kids, so be sure to bring a spare change of clothes!
Governor Phillip Park offers the perfect spot for a barbecue or a picnic with family and friends with their barbeque facilities on site and plenty of seating areas. We would recommend taking a leisurely stroll along the promenade, enjoying a riverside picnic, or simply find a peaceful spot to sit and relax while the kids play!
