why is this important
St Marys is quickly becoming an important strategic centre in Western Sydney.
The new Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport rail line will connect St Marys to the world and bring more people, jobs, and infrastructure to the area.
The NSW Government is positioning Western Sydney to become the national capital for advanced
manufacturing, built around the Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport and the
development of the Aerotropolis precinct, along with its connecting infrastructure.
The Town Centre plays an important role in supporting growth in jobs and housing within the Western Parkland City and over the coming years as the Western Sydney International Airport opens.

The Town Centre is located 25 km west of the Parramatta CBD and 46 km from Sydney CBD. Therefore, it is connected by established and emerging rail and road networks including: the Great Western Highway, St Marys Train Station, and with the soon-to-open St Marys Sydney Metro.
Penrith City Council is preparing for these changes through exciting projects and careful planning. This will help guide development of the St Marys Town Centre over the next 20 years and beyond.
A network of cultural, social and recreational spaces are located across the St Marys Town Centre. These facilities and assets are much-loved by locals. Greater connection will be critical to the future sustainability of this Town Centre.
