Dido’s Place – Luxury Family Stay in Sydney
If you’re looking for a quick break from the hustle and bustle and some R&R – Dido’s Place, a luxury family stay in Sydney is your go to destination! WSM recently spent a weekend discovering this hidden gem and here’s what we thought.
more than just a holiday house – the perfect retreat
Located just under an hour’s drive in East Kurrajong, this family friendly house features the works! and we mean the works! Sleeping up to 12 people and a baby, there’s a 10 seater outdoor spa, (a family favourite among our tribe) a large outdoor entertaining area including lounge, dining, BBQ and outdoor fire and campfire; caters to families (cot, high chairs) fully equipped kitchen and more.
From the moment we arrived, we were taken away by the picturesque property, taking in views of the Hawkesbury. As a multi-award-winning accommodation, Dido’s place is family-owned and by a third generation grandson, Paul and his wife Nila, this place has a homely touch with the iconic red tractor at the front of the house and a lovely welcome basket upon entry, which really sets the tone for welcoming stay.
The features and charm
Dido’s Place is great for young families, small and large groups of families and friends or gatherings and special occasions. This luxury family stay in Sydney features 4-bedrooms, 2.5-bathrooms, with a big kitchen (great for cooking up a storm), study, children’s playroom, laundry, and theatre room and more. The rooms are immaculate, clean, spacious and modern, and have all the things you need from cooking utensils, hair and body care and more.
Family activities & things to do
Situated on nine acres, you’ll be able to access the whole property and have plenty of space for activities and games such as cricket, basketball, ping pong, trampolining and more. Just a walk down to the dam and you can try your luck fishing and spotting platypuses. And finish off the evening around the campfire roasting marshmallows, chestnuts and whatever you like.

There’s a dedicated kid’s room to keep the little ones preoccupied with a heaps of board games, video games, a Duplo Lego table, toys, colouring in books and DVDs.
Community-Centric and Sustainable
There’s a big focus on sustainability with a herb garden for you to forage through and other initiatives including water harvesting, solar power, tree planting, and worm farming. Dido’s place a large emphasis on supporting local, you’ll notice many local products featured throughout the house.
