Western Sydney’s Grand Vision – The Bradfield City Centre

Draft master plans for a new city, the Bradfield City Centre have been unveiled within Western Sydney Aerotropolis.

Anticipated to be one of the biggest development projects in Australia, the Bradfield City Centre will be five times the size of Barangaroo. This 114-hectares city will be located on the doorstep of the new Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport.

The Centre will become a leading hub for advanced and emerging industries, technology, innovation, education, skills development and manufacturing. Creating an estimated 20,000 jobs and up to 10,000 new homes for residents.

The project contains all key areas for a new city, including a two hectare central park, waterfront promenades, streets, roads, city blocks, playgrounds, public art, open spaces and parklands, community facilities, commercial and retail precincts and more.

The construction of a new metro station is underway as well as the Advanced Manufacturing and Research Facility (AMRF) featuring a partnership with electronics giant Hitachi.

The NSW government has allocated more than $1 billion toward the masterplan.

The masterplan is on exhibition for community feedback until 4 March, to have your say or to learn more head over here . Depending if the current draft masterplan is approved, the government hopes plans for the project could be finalised by mid-2024. The nearby Western Sydney International Airport is expected to open in 2026.
