Liverpool City Council – Woodward Place Masterplan
Liverpool City Council has plans to create a new recreational, leisure and lifestyle precinct called Woodward Place in Sydney’s South West.
A new precinct for social interaction and fun
With Liverpool tipped to become the third CBD of Sydney, the Council aims to transform 28 hectares of green space at Woodward Park into a vibrant social, cultural and recreational hub.
a 30 year vision for the liverpool community
The plan outlines a vision for what will be a thriving hub of activity and interaction with a new leisure centre, green spaces, community facilities including a community hub, childcare centre, halls, markets, exhibition, events and conference facilities and sporting parks.
first stages of the masterplan
The first stage of the masterplan will be the revitalisation of Brickmakers Creek and the development of a new aquatic and leisure centre adjacent to the creek. The centre will feature an indoor and outdoor pool, a unique nature play space, slides and a flying fox from the centre of the building to the creek, alongside picnic areas and gathering spaces.
There are also plans to create a multi-purpose community space, a multi-storey carpark, a forecourt for community events including live entertainment, music and performances. An overpass across Hume Highway will connect Woodward Place to Liverpool city centre.
The Woodward Place Masterplan is being developed with People Place and Partnership, Hassell, Aspect Studios, Terroir and Yerrabingin in association with Liverpool City Council.
